New in Famora: medication plan, food nearby, and meal plans for the whole family
The new Famora update looks after your family's health and nutrition: a shared medication plan with reminders, tips about suitable food nearby — even with allergies and special diets — and weekly meal plans you can even scan in by photo or email. GDPR-compliant and ad-free, as always.

The Famora Assistant has barely landed with you, and we're already following up. This update is all about two things that matter in every family and still slip through the cracks of a busy day: health and food. Four new features have arrived — and as always, they're here to take work off your plate, not add to it. One by one.
Medication plan: the heart of this update. You enter once who in the family needs which medication and when — Grandma's tablet, the child's drops, the morning vitamin — and Famora reminds you automatically at the right time. Here's what makes it special: a reminder doesn't have to reach the person taking the medication. You can assign a responsible person — a parent who remembers the little one's medicine, or an adult child keeping an eye on their parents' tablets. Confirming takes a single tap: taken or later. And if an important dose is pushed back several times, Famora escalates it to the responsible person — so nothing important slips through. No more note on the fridge, no more "Did you take your tablet?" shouted across the house.
Food nearby: Famora knows what your family needs to watch out for when eating — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free or halal. You set your preferences and intolerances once, and when something suitable turns up near you, you get a gentle heads-up. Your favorite spots — the café with the gluten-free cakes, the place with a vegan menu — can be saved as family locations and tagged with the right traits. So the eternal question "Where can we all actually eat here?" turns into a short, clear answer.
Weekly meal plans: plan your meals together instead of figuring out every evening what goes on the table. Famora brings weekly meal plans with ready-made recipe templates — and best of all, you don't have to type anything in. Photograph the menu from daycare or the school canteen, or forward the weekly plan by email — Famora reads it and turns it into a finished plan. Whatever you're missing for cooking moves straight onto the shopping list if you like.
And for the youngest ones: not every child has their own phone — and it should stay that way. Children still belong in the family's organization. That's why you can now create profiles for children without their own device: they appear in the calendar, in the medication plan and at mealtimes just like any other family member — simply without a smartphone. The parents keep hold of the reins.
An honest word about this: we roll out new features gradually, so everything runs reliably before it reaches you. Some families will see more than others at first. What you see, works — the rest arrives over the coming weeks. And you have a say in what comes next: on our public roadmap you can submit wishes and vote for other people's ideas. Whatever rises to the top is what we build next.
One thing doesn't change: how we handle your data. Health data like a medication plan is especially sensitive — so it stays where it belongs. Famora is and remains GDPR-compliant and is hosted exclusively in German data centers. No ads, no tracking, no selling your data — and certainly no trading in what your family eats or which medications it takes.
The most common questions about the update: How does the medication plan work? You set who needs which medication and when, and who's responsible; Famora reminds you automatically and escalates missed doses. What does "food nearby" mean? Famora knows your family's diets and intolerances and points you to suitable places in the area. Can I scan a menu? Yes — by photo or by forwarded email, and Famora turns it into a finished meal plan. Do my children need their own phone? No, you can create profiles for children entirely without a device of their own.
All the new features are available now on the App Store, on Google Play, and as always in your browser at app.famora.one. New families still start with 14 days free — all the details at famora.one. Stay healthy. 💚
