Famora was born in our own living room – at the kitchen table, between daycare notes, doctor's appointments and the eternal question: “Who's picking up the kids today?”
Why we built Famora
We're a couple with two kids. Like most families, our days were a puzzle of appointments, shopping lists, school letters and quick messages – scattered across sticky notes, three different apps and two heads. Something always slipped through, and by the end of the day we'd spent more time organizing than actually being together.
At some point we asked ourselves: what if a single, private app held the whole family day together – calendar, location, lists and chat in one place – without turning our data into a product? An app that gives you time back instead of eating it.
That idea became Famora. Not another social network, but a calm, safe place just for your own family. Today we use Famora ourselves every day – and win back the evenings that used to disappear into organizing chaos.
What we believe
Privacy isn't an add-on
Your data belongs to you. Famora is GDPR-compliant, hosted in Germany, and funded by fair subscriptions – not by ads or by selling your data.
More time for family
Every feature has one goal: less admin, more time together. If an idea doesn't do that, it doesn't make it into the app.

Who's behind it
Famora is built by Mattalnet Grupp OÜ – a small, family-run team in Europe. What started as a fix for our own daily life is now used by families in more than 30 languages. We keep building Famora with you: every piece of feedback flows straight into our roadmap.
