Famora.EE at a glance: every feature and the new pricing
Shared lists, a calendar with RSVP and ICS subscription, family chat with attachments, voice-to-event and live location — plus the new pricing model with 14 days free and Basic from 12.99 euros a year.
Over the past months, Famora.EE has grown from a simple calendar app into a full organization platform for families. In this post, we give you an honest overview of everything the app can do today — and introduce the new pricing model that lets every family start with 14 days free.
Let's start with shared lists, because the notepad on the fridge has had its day. With Famora.EE, you create shopping and to-do lists that every family member sees in real time. Whoever's at the supermarket checks off the milk — and at home, it instantly disappears from everyone else's list too. Tasks can be assigned, so everyone knows what needs doing without constant reminders.
The heart of Famora.EE remains the shared family calendar, but today it can do far more than just display appointments. Every family member has their own color, so it's clear at a glance whose appointment is coming up. For shared events, everyone can see who's coming and who isn't via RSVP. Recurring appointments like weekly piano lessons or football practice are set up once and then appear automatically every time. Birthdays among family and friends are no longer forgotten. And if you'd rather see your appointments in your usual calendar app, simply subscribe to the family calendar as an ICS feed in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. Reminders arrive automatically via push notification, configurable individually per event.
The built-in family chat keeps communication in one place — separate from crowded general messenger group chats. Messages can be enriched with photos and voice attachments, for example to quickly share a picture of the shopping list or a short voice note. Transmission and storage are encrypted, hosted in Germany. To be upfront about it: we deliberately don't advertise end-to-end encryption, but rather encrypted transmission (TLS) and encrypted storage on our servers.
Especially in hectic moments, typing is a hassle. With the voice-to-event feature, you simply say "Dentist for Emma on Thursday at 3pm," and Famora.EE creates the matching calendar entry. The system knows your family members and automatically assigns statements to the right person. This feature is part of the Premium plan, along with the read-aloud function.
With explicit consent, Famora.EE also shows the live location of family members. Geofencing lets you set places like school or home: when a child leaves school or arrives home, you automatically get notified. Location data is automatically deleted after 30 days — there are no long-term movement profiles. Location features are available starting with the Family plan.
Privacy is never an afterthought in any of this — it's a core principle. Famora.EE is GDPR-compliant and hosted exclusively in German data centers. There are no ads, no tracking, and no selling of user data. Children under 16 can only be added to a family by a parent, and all privacy settings remain with the parents or guardians.
Alongside these features, we've made our pricing clearer and fairer. Every new family starts with 14 days free and can try out every feature during that time. After that, you choose the plan that fits. Basic at 12.99 euros a year is the entry point for small families with up to 3 members and includes shared lists, the family calendar with RSVP, birthdays and ICS subscription, plus the family chat with attachments. Family at 4.99 euros a month brings unlimited members plus location and geofencing. Premium at 9.99 euros a month adds voice-to-event and the read-aloud function.
We deliberately don't offer a permanently free tier — in exchange, we fully forgo advertising and data sales, financing development solely through fair subscription pricing. All plans apply per family, not per person, and can be cancelled monthly at any time.
In short, Famora.EE brings together what families used to need five different apps for: lists, calendar, chat, location and reminders — secure, clear, and hosted in Germany. With the new 14-day trial, you can find out at your own pace whether the app fits your everyday life before committing to a plan.
